ADJUSTABLE SUTURE ANCHOR

Adjustable suture anchors are described herein. Suture anchors of the present invention accommodates various sutures and allow for repeated adjustment of suture lengths without having to knot the sutures. The anchors have a head portion, a shaft portion, and a through hole extending perpendicularly therebetween. The shaft portion is implanted within bone and the suture is attached to tissue and is passed within the through hole. Tension is adjusted to a desirable level and the free end of the suture is secured to the anchor. The suture is secured by wrapping it about the shaft inbetween the head portion and the bone surface and securing it within a notch defined in the head. To readjust the tension, the suture free end is pulled up and out of the notch, unwrapped from the shaft, and the tension is readjusted as necessary. Afterwards, the suture free end is resecured in the notch.
