<p>A method of operating a node coupleable to a network (102) having a primary ring (102) and a counter rotating secondary ring (104). The method generally comprises the steps of (A) receiving first data having a first destination address at the node for insertion into the network (100) and (B) transmitting the first data at a first port coupleable to a high speed span of the secondary ring (104) while a second port coupleable to a low speed span of the primary ring (102) is operational in response to the destination address mapping to a first predetermined node of the network (100).</p> |
