A fluorescent reagent containing a fluorescent dye group and an intercalate group. When this reagent comes into contact with a double-stranded DNA or a double-stranded RNA, the intercalate group intercalates between base pairs in the double-stranded nucleic acid. As a result, the quenching caused by stacking between the fluorescent dye group and the intercalate group in the reagent molecule is broken off so that the fluorescent intensity is elevated. Thus, the double-stranded DNA or the double-stranded RNA can be selectively detected.
|
