COMPOSITE MATERIAL HAVING RESPONSIVITY TO VISIBLE LIGHT AND ADSORPTIVITY

A novel composite material which comprises a titanium oxide exhibiting good response to a visible light and calcium phosphate coating at least a part of the surface of the titanium oxide; a fibrous substance comprising the composite material; and a coating material comprising the composite material. The composite material exhibits good response to a visible light, and also contains an apatite coating in a content significantly greater than that in a conventional similar composite material and thus is excellent in adsorptivity and hydrophilicity.
