PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To widen the measuring range of a block for optical fiber with a relatively simple constitution, and to precisely inspect. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a plurality of rod bodies 2 arranged individually in a groove part of the block for the optical fiber, and of which the cross-sectional shape is conformed with the optical fiber, a laser measuring instrument 15 for measuring a distance up to a measuring point by irradiation of a laser beam, and a moving table 11 for conducting parallel motion to move the measuring point of the laser measuring instrument 15 along a direction orthogonal to the longitudinal direction of the groove part, and the center position of the each rod body arranged in the groove part is found to judge the quality of the groove part.
