A lifting device (1) comprises a rotatable pawl (2) with a pawl arm (6) held in a pawl sleeve (12). The pawl (2) has an open position in which a rope may be freely adjusted in tightening or loosening direction, and a close position in which the rope is lockably engaged between the pawl (2) and the pawl sleeve (12). The pawl (2) has a pawl arm (6) against which the locked rope may be directed to rotate the pawl (2) into an open position. The lifting device (1) also includes a pulley (20) for mechanical advantage, and a base (40) for mounting to a surface. |
