The laundry drier consists of a base with fixed (7) and deployable (6) feet and a hollow vertical support (1) containing an extending shaft (3). The support and shaft have through apertures (11) to receive hook-shaped shanks (4) on detachable drying racks (2). The shaft can be raised or lowered with the aid of a cord threaded through the support. The different components can be made from plastic and assembled by the purchaser with no need for tools.
