<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve assembling performance, and to reduce assembling fault by reducing the number of structuring component items. <P>SOLUTION: This friction hinge device includes: a pipe spring 10 integrally formed with first and second curling portions 11, 11' provided with a radius direction slit 13 forming a downward projecting portion at a lower portion and a center hole and opening in an opposite direction; a rotating shaft 20 provided with a first shaft portion 21 pressed in through the center hole of the pipe spring, and a second shaft portion 22 extending from the first shaft portion; and a housing 30 provided with an axial direction hole 31 in which the rotating shaft is inserted, and a slot 32 in which the downward projecting portion is fixed and inserted.
