PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device, a printer and a process cartridge where the specified amount of developer is carried on a developing roller so as to be fed to a developing area and whose manufacture cost is reduced by making tolerance margin to the size of a doctor gap large. SOLUTION: When it is assumed that the size of the doctor gap is Gd [mm], the average value of each maximum flux density in a normal direction on the surface of a developing sleeve 43 by feeding poles P5 and P6 is Bpa [mT], the opening angle of the groove 43a of the sleeve 43 isθ, and the value of a coefficientα<SB>1</SB>is 10, the depth D [mm] of the groove 43a is within a range shown by an expression (1).
