PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a humidifying apparatus which prevents the propagation of bacteria in a humidifying filter to reduce the generation of odor by eliminating suspended bacteria in indoor air. SOLUTION: This humidifying apparatus is provided with: a water storage tank for storing water; the humidifying filter 14 for humidifying the water in the water storage tank; a blowing means for blowing air through the humidifying filter 14; and an ion generator 18 for alternately generating cation and anion. During humidifying operation, the air containing the cation and anion generated from the ion generator 18 is blown to the humidifying filter 14, and the suspended bacteria included in the air taken in from the indoor side are eliminated before entering the humidifying filter 14. The propagation of the bacteria in the humidifying filter 14 is thereby prevented to reduce the generation of odor. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
