The wash-bar (2) incorporates a lengthwise groove (7) aligned in the direction of the lengthwise axis of the bar. The groove is covered by a moistening-insert (4) made of porous material (5) permeable to washing fluid. Beneath the groove is a supply chamber (8) adjoining a storage container for the washing agent. The material consists of porous sintered material such as ceramic, and of micro-porous material such as metal.
