<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the reliability of a decision on whether a replaceable unit is unused or used without making it complicated nor difficult to recycle the replaceable unit by forming a mark showing a used state in a hard-to-restore state while decreasing the number of components. <P>SOLUTION: This mechanism comprises: a cover 22 having an edge part 22j partially having a cut part 22e; a moving body 21 having a shaft body 21c, a spring part 21e, a projection 21f and a groove part 21h; and a shaft body 23 having a driving gear 23a and a rib 23c. When a developing unit 4 is unused, the projection 21f abuts against the edge part 22j from outside to keep the shaft body 21c in an exposed state. When the developing unit 4 begins to be used and rotation is transmitted to the driving gear 23a, the rib 23c and groove part 21h engage each other to rotate the moving body 21 and when the projection 21f faces the cut part 22e, the moving body 21 moves to the side of the shaft body 23 with the elastic force of the spring part 21e, so that the shaft body 21c retracts from the exposure position. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
