<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for making a Fe-Cr-Co-based sintered magnet which is hard to be plastically formed, without lowering the characteristics by a sintering process. <P>SOLUTION: This manufacturing method comprises compression molding alloy powders made with a liquid quenching method, which have a composition of 20-40 wt.% Cr, 5-25 wt.% Co and the balance Fe, and sintering the molded powders in a vacuum or a non-oxidizing atmosphere, in a temperature range of 1,200-1,350°C. Then, the sintered magnet has a relative density of 90% or higher. In addition, the sintered magnet can develop required magnetic properties, by having O<SB>2</SB>and C contents controlled to 0.2 wt.% or less and 0.02 wt.% or less respectively. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
