<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylinder head cover mounting structure for an internal-combustion engine of such a configuration that a cam phase changing mechanism is installed at one end of one of the cam shafts on a suction side and on an exhaust side, and that an end wall cover coupled with one end wall of the cylinder head and a cylinder head cover with a resilient seal member interposed between it and the cylinder head are fastened to the cylinder head, wherein the cylinder head cover is prevented from deforming in the part covering the cam phase changing mechanism while a large-sized construction of the engine is avoided, and also a sufficient seal is generated between the end wall cover and the cylinder head cover. <P>SOLUTION: A coupling shaft 35 is installed outside in the axial direction of the second rotary wheel 15 in such a way as at least partially overlapping the cam phase changing mechanism 14 on the side elevation viewed in the direction perpendicular to the axes of two cam shafts 10I and 10E, and the bottom of this coupling shaft 35 is implanted into the end wall cover 17, and a spring 39 to push the cylinder head cover 19 resiliently toward the end wall cover 17 is installed between a spring receptacle 36 installed at the top of the coupling shaft 35 and the cylinder head cover 19. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
