PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an optical waveguide device in which the core part is accurately cut or machined, or to obtain a method of manufacturing an optical waveguide device in which such cutting or machining is possible. SOLUTION: The optical waveguide device 101 is provided with a waveguide part 103 projected in the form of a belt from a circumferential part 102 in the direction from the near point to the far point as shown in the figure. A core which is not shown in the figure is arranged inside the waveguide part 103. The waveguide part 103 is formed as a core layer integrally with a wall to be cut 106. The wall to be cut 106 does not have a projecting and recessing part on the part to be cut which is shown with a dotted line 105.
