PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a desired usage sense of an assist grip by imparting a resistance to a grip body 1 and reducing a turning speed when the grip body 1 is turned from a usage position to an housing position in an housing type assist grip G provided with a pair of mounting seats 3, 5 fixed to a car body panel P; a lengthy grip body 1 turnably pivotally supported to these by leg parts 1a, 1b; and a twisted coil spring for turning this grip body 1 from the usage position to the housing position. SOLUTION: A fixed end 61a of an approximately U shaped leaf spring 61 of which one end is made to be a free end 61b is fixed to a bottom wall 11 of an housing recessed part 13 of the leg part 1a. An eccentric cam 54 sliding so as to increase a pressing force to the leaf spring 61 at the time of turning from the usage position to the housing position of the grip body 1 is formed around a support part at a damper side of the mounting seat 3.
