METHOD FOR PRODUCING 2-AMINO-5-HALOGENOINDOLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an industrially suitable method for producing a 2-amino-5- halogenoindole with which the 2-amino-5-halogenoindole is obtained from a 5-halogeno-2-nitrobenzyl cyanide in high yield by a simple method. SOLUTION: The method for producing the 2-amino-5-halogenoindole comprises (A) a reduction reactional step of subjecting the 5-halogeno-2- nitrobenzyl cyanide to a reduction reaction and providing a 5-halogeno-2- aminobenzyl cyanide and (B) a cyclization reactional step of then subjecting the 5-halogeno-2-aminobenzyl cyanide to a cyclization reaction in the presence of a base.
