METHOD FOR PREPARING POROUS MATERIAL AND COMPACT THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming a porous material with the use of an electroconductive fiber, and a compact thereof. SOLUTION: The method for preparing the porous material having an arbitrary porosity by using the electroconductive fiber comprises (1) pressure molding the fibers with the use of a forming die while applying an electric current, and (2) in the above process, using the electroconductive fiber longer than a diameter of a circumscribed circle of the compact in the cross section in a pressuring direction.
