PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve an indoor environment of a house, an office, or a store by decreasing aldehydes released from an adhesive for wood as well as decreasing aldehydes such as formaldehyde or acetoaldehyde, released from wood itself. SOLUTION: When an aqueous adhesive such as an aqueous polymeric isocyanate adhesive containing no aldehydes such as formaldehyde is applied, a compound which permeates into the wood to absorbe the aldehydes is added to the adhesive, or the compound is separately wet-on-wet coated, or separately coated on the wood. Thereby the aldehydes released from the wood is reduced. In the case, 0.5-50 pts.wt. of an aldehyde absorbent per 100 pts.wt. of the adhesive are used. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
