PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a weak solvent type acrylic matte coating which exhibits a good weather resistance and hardly generates uneven gloss even though its pigment weight concentration is comparatively low as equivalent to that of a conventional glossy coating. SOLUTION: The coating composition contains an acrylic resin, polyethylene particles, a pigment and an organic solvent composed mainly of an aliphatic hydrocarbon solvent, the acrylic resin is present in the state of being dispersed or dissolved into the solvent, the polyethylene particles are present in the state of a dispersed phase in the organic solvent, the content of the pigment is 10-50 wt.% of the total solid content, and the specular gloss of 20 degrees of the formed coating film is≤25 according to the standard of JIS K5400.
