<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a weather strip for an automobile capable of reducing the weight without damaging mechanical properties. <P>SOLUTION: Thermoplastic elastomer for forming the weather strip is foamed by adding a chemical forming agent, or by mixing into a gas such as carbon dioxide or nitrogen, or into the carbon dioxide or nitrogen in a supercritical state. Thus, the weather strip has a specific gravity of 0.70 to 0.85; an expansion ratio of 1.05 to 1.20 times; and a cell diameter of 100 to 250 μm, or 100 μm or less, or preferably 60 μm or less; and has the sufficient mechanical properties. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
