<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique related to a camera apparatus which automatically realizes adaptive strobe control without requiring setting of a close-up mode even at the time of close-up. <P>SOLUTION: A camera apparatus which performs preliminary light emission before main light emission for photographing comprises a photoelectric conversion means (12) for outputting photoelectric conversion data corresponding to a luminous flux made incident through a photographic lens, a preliminary light emission means (21) which performs preliminary light emission at least twice including first preliminary light emission corresponding to a normal photographic region and second preliminary light emission corresponding to a close-up region, a data acquisition means (16) for acquiring photoelectric conversion data corresponding to the first preliminary light emission and that corresponding to the second preliminary light emission, a discriminating means (16) for discriminating close-up or not on the basis of data obtained by the data acquisition means, and a setting means (16) for setting a light emission condition of main light emission on the basis of the discrimination result of the discriminating means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
