<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an N-acetylglucosaminyltyrosine derivative where N- acetylglucosamine and the side chain hydroxy group of tyrosine are bound to each other via anα-glycoside linkage, serving as a raw material for synthesizing glycopeptides. <P>SOLUTION: The N-acetylglucosaminyltyrosine derivative is shown by the general formula [I] (wherein, X is H or an amino-protecting group; Y is H or a carboxyl-protecting group; R<SP>1</SP>, R<SP>2</SP>and R<SP>3</SP>are each H, a hydroxyl-protecting group, monosaccharide group or sugar chain).
