PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for easily and inexpensively producing 2- deoxy-2-[<SP>18</SP>F]fluoro-D-glucose. SOLUTION: The method for producing the 2-deoxy-2-[<SP>18</SP>F]fluoro-D-glucose for used as a labeled compound in the PET diagnostic system involves using<SP>18</SP>F ion obtained by directly treating a<SP>18</SP>O-containing compound by a nuclear reaction<SP>18</SP>O(p,n)<SP>18</SP>F; wherein it is preferable that the<SP>18</SP>O-containing compound be obtained by irradiating a<SP>18</SP>O-containing saturated chain ether or saturated cyclic ether with a plurality of laser beams to effect selective photolysis of the ether and then isolating the<SP>18</SP>O-containing product.
