PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To promote an improvement in engine performance by a method for assembling a front frame of an articulated fan for a gas turbine engine 10. SOLUTION: This method includes a step for forming a strut 60 including a pair of side walls 74 joined in the front edge 76 and the rear edge 78, a first side wall 112, and a second side wall 114 joined in the front edge and the rear edge, a step for forming a flap 62 extending over a radial directional span between a root end wall 86 and a tip end wall 88, having the respective end walls extending between the first and second side walls, and having at least one of the root end wall and the tip end wall extending between the flap front edge and the rear edge contoured in the radial direction, and a step for pivotally joining the flap to the downstream side of the strut so that a gap 120 is formed between the flap and the strut.
