PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor having a high electrification potential and high sensitivity and capable of showing stable performance without changing various kinds of characteristics even when it is repeatedly used. SOLUTION: The electrophotographic photoreceptor having a photosensitive layer containing a charge generating substance and a charge transfer substance as structural components on a conductive supporting body, is characterized in that the photoreceptor contains at least one kind of phthalocyanines as the charge generating substance and at least one kind of compound expressed by general formula (1) as the charge transfer substance. In general formula (1), R<SP>1</SP>represents an alkyl group, R<SP>2</SP>represents hydrogen atom, an alkyl group or a halogen atom, and each of Ar<SP>1</SP>and Ar<SP>2</SP>represents an aryl group or a heterocyclic group which may have a substituent.
