<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a two-wheel and four-wheel drive switching device for vehicles, which generates only low sound and can minimize power consumption. <P>SOLUTION: This device is provided with a switching unit for making and breaking the power transmission by a power transmission mechanism, which is installed in either an engine or between the front wheels and the rear wheels, and a control unit for controlling the switching unit.
