PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat-developable copying material capable of forming an image of high image quality free from unevenness in density particularly in a non-image portion (ground portion) while enabling image formation at high density. SOLUTION: In the heat-developable copying material having a recording layer on a support, the recording layer comprises a photosensitive diazo compound housed in microcapsules, a coupling component which reacts with the photosensitive diazo compound under heating to develop a color, alginic acid or its derivative and carboxymethylcellulose.
