PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To present a distinct image without being affected by the brightness of a projection environment. SOLUTION: A screen for projection on which light from a light source 11 is projected to display an image is provided with an optical thin film 3 made of a dielectric multi-layered film which has a high reflection characteristic to light in a specific wavelength band and has a high transmission characteristic to at least light in a visible wavelength area other than the specific wavelength band, and the film thickness of each layer of the dielectric multi-layered film in the optical thin film 3 is designed by simulation based on a matrix method. In the screen for projection constituted in this manner, the optical thin film 3 functions as what is called a band filter. The optical thin film 3 reflects only light in the specific wavelength band and transmits light having the other wavelengths to function as a wavelength band filter which has a function to separate these light.
