PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To hold an optical fiber by improving a chucking mechanism for holding the optical fiber with a collet chuck, and thereby only simply pushing in a tubular holder for holding the jacket end of an optical cord by a small force without using an exclusive tool. SOLUTION: On the inner face of a connecting tube 2 with a built-in collet chuck 3, there are provided two grooves 2E, 2F for temporary holding purpose and for normal holding purpose. The tubular holder 4 is then pushed in until a check lug 4A at the tip end of the tubular holder 4 is moved from the groove 2E to 2F and engaged. Then, a tightening ring 3B makes the collet 3A contracted by the repulsion of a compressed spring 6, causing an optical fiber 21 to be held by the collet 3A.
