PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for pre-treating coking coal for a coke oven, comprising drying, classifying and heating feed-stock coal. SOLUTION: The feed-stock coal is charged into a fluidizing bed type drying, classifying and heating apparatus 2, an off gas generated from the heating apparatus side is introduced into a classifying zone cyclone 4 to separate a solid from the gas and then the gas separated by a classifying zone cyclone 4 is introduced into a hot blast generator 7 communicating to the fluidizing bed type drying, classifying and heating apparatus 2 to circulate. The solid separated by the classifying zone cyclone 4 is introduced to fine particle, flash drying tower 9 and at the same time, the solid separated by the classifying zone cyclone 4 is prevented from flowing out to the gas phase by connecting an extraction gas cyclone 21 to the course of an introducing path way to the fine particles flash drying tower 9.
