PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent breakage by preventing collision between a piston and a constituting element adjoining to the piston. SOLUTION: This reciprocating type compressor comprises: a container 10 having a gas intake pipe 1 and a gas discharge pipe 2; a frame unit 30 arranged inside the container 10; a reciprocating type motor 20 arranged to the frame unit 30 and generating driving force; the piston 60 arranged to be linearly reciprocating by moved inside a cylinder; a valve unit 70 arranged to the frame unit 30 to discharge gas using a pressure difference generated by the linearly reciprocating motion of the piston 60; and a forward elastic member 102 elastically supporting the piston 60, and arranged to a forward part of the frame unit 30 in order to prevent the breakage due to abrasion between the piston 60 and the adjoining constituting component when the piston 60 moves to exceed a top dead center.
