A position information providing method capable of providing position information of a mobile terminal while protecting privacy of a user of the mobile terminal. An information transmission server (1) transmits desired judgment position information and unique information of a specified mobile terminal to a position information providing server (3). The mobile terminal (2) transmits its unique information to the position information providing server. When specified unique information coincide with the unique information, the position information providing server judges whether a matched point is present between the judgment position information and the position information of the mobile terminal. When the position information providing server has judged that a matched point is present between the judgment position information and the mobile terminal position information, the judgment result is reported to the information transmission server via a network, thereby providing position information.
