The invention relates to a system and method for selection of at least one product for a user from amongst a number of products. The system comprises a first product data base (11), in which each product is associated with multiple defining data, said data comprising absolute product description criteria and relative criteria which may vary in a continuous manner, the whole of the relative criteria forming a product diagram. The system further comprises a second selection database (12), containing a number of information acquisition modules, particularly comprising means for information acquisition and means for processing information received, said processing means defining a variation in the value of at least one of said relative criteria as a function of the received information. The system further comprises, for each user, a personal diagram established based on the whole of said relative criteria. The system also comprises absolute selection means for products as a function of the absolute criteria and means for calculation of a difference between the personal diagram of the user and the diagram of the products.
