<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent soil on a transfer roller, sticky soil on paper, or soil on the back of paper. <P>SOLUTION: The electrophotographic image forming apparatus forms a developer image on a photoreceptor drum 1 with a developing means 4, transfers the image to a transfer material P with a transfer roller 5, and recovers transfer residual developer on the photoreceptor drum 1, which remains untransferred to the transfer material P with the transfer roller 5, into the developing means 4.
