PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus having an inexpensive fixing device without the need of a dedicated power source or a conversion circuit changing to a desired voltage branched from an electrifying device, a development device and a transfer separation device in a biasing means in the image forming apparatus of the type of fixing an unfixed toner image on a recording material while applying a bias between a fixing member and a pressurizing member. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is provided with the fixing device for heating the unfixed toner image electrostatically held on the surface of the recording material 1 and fixing it on the recording material surface while clamping and carrying it at a fixing nip part constituted by bringing the fixing member 2 and the pressurizing member 3 into press contact and also the electrifying device 5 constituted of a constant voltage member 53 arranged between an electrifying wire 51 connected to a high voltage/constant current source and a photosensitive member 4 and grounded through a Zener diode 52 so as to turn the photosensitive member to a fixed voltage and a shield member 54 covering the other three surfaces. The fixing member 2 in contact with the unfixed toner image and the constant voltage member 53 of the electrifying device 5 are connected and the bias is applied to the fixing member 2.
