摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a light source device by which a beam is separated and synthesized at a low working cost and without causing the fluctuation of a light quantity due to interference. SOLUTION: The beam A is made incident on the half mirror surface 14A of a wedge prism 14, and the beam B emitted by a second light source is made incident on the transmission surface 14B of the wedge prism 14, so that each beam is separated in two directions. The direction of the beam A transmitted through the half mirror surface 14A is nearly parallel to that of the reflected beam B, and the direction of the beam A reflected by the half mirror surface 14A is nearly parallel to that of the transmitted beam B. Two surfaces of the wedge prism 14, that is, the half mirror surface 14A and the transmission surface 14B are provided not in parallel but by having a difference in a face-to- face angle, so that reflected light beams by front and back surfaces are not made in parallel. Thus, the interference is not caused like a plane parallel plate even by multi-reflection. Also, the cost of the wedge prism 14 is lower than that of a combined prism because the number of manufacturing processes is less than that of the combined prism. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
