PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform rational electric power control of an electric bicycle. SOLUTION: Output voltage of a torque detector at a time when pedal load torque is zero is set as a constant value greater than zero. Since this electric bicycle includes a zero point correction function to perform zero point correction of the torque detector when output voltage of the torque detector is greater than zero at turning on of a power switch 6 and determines malfunction of the torque detector when output voltage of the torque detector is zero, an electric drive device 5 can be appropriately operated and malfunction of the torque detector can be determined.
