<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for quantifying a nucleic acid, and to provide a kit therefor. <P>SOLUTION: A standard article to be used for preparing a calibration curve for quantifying a specific target nucleic acid in a sample consists of a polynucleotide obtained by chemical synthesis. A method and a kit for quantifying the nucleic acid using the article, and methods of diagnosing specific diseases using the article, are also provided, respectively. This standard article has advantages of being afforded with a targeted exact sequence by a simple method compared to those consisting of polynucleotides obtained by conventional biosynthesis, of being safe to the environment because of no biological contamination, and of reducing factors inhibiting highly accurate quantification. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
