PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a workpiece chattering preventing device for preventing generation of chattering in lathing a thin and long stepped workpiece. SOLUTION: In an NC lathe provided with a turret type bite holder, a rotary tool unit is replaced by an anti-chattering bite holder comprising a transmission converting member to convert rotation of a motor to a lathing tool holding member to advance/retreat to/from a workpiece, and an anti-chattering member that advances/retreats to be positioned to press are integrally provided to be installed on an installation part of a bite holder unit provided with a rotary tool driven by the motor.
