PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a turning tool capable of efficiently feeding a coolant to a cutting edge on the flank side, without requiring additional parts for forming a coolant flow path and complicating the structure. SOLUTION: In the turning tool 1, a recessed part 19 having an opening 17 on the flank 16 side is provided on a tip bearing surface 12 of a tip pocket of a holder 2. The coolant flow path 18 is formed in the holder 2 so as to connect to this recessed part 19. A throw away tip 61 is cramped to the tip bearing surface 12 via a shim sheet 3. This turning tool can efficiently feed a coolant to the cutting edge 63 on the flank side without requiring additional parts and complicating the structure. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
