PLASMID CONTAINING PROMOTER EXPRESSED SPECIFICALLY TO CALLUS AND METHOD FOR SELECTING TRANSFORMED PLANT CELL CALLUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a recombinant plasmid which is expressed specifically to a plant cell callus and efficiently selects a transformed plant cell callus, a selected marker useful for the plasmid and to provide a selection method for efficiently selecting the transformed plant cell callus by expressing the selected marker specifically to a callus.

SOLUTION: The selected marker and the recombinant plasmid contain a gene (A) encoding a protein which has α subunit activity of a first isozyme of rice plant ASA but is insensitive to feedback inhibition by tryptophan and a protnoter expressing the gene (A) specifically to a callus, such as a promoter having a base sequence of sequence number 1 (reference to the specification) expressing the gene (A) specifically to a callus, etc. The selection method comprises a process for transforming the plant cell callus by the recombinant plasmid and a process for selecting a callus having resistance to a tryptophan analogous compound from the callus treated by the process.
