A portable door fastening comprises a metal strip 1 insertable between a door and a door jamb and having a projection 2 engageable in a bolt hole or like recess in or on the jamb and an abutment engageable with the inner surface of the door adjacent the jamb so as to hold the door firmly closed. The abutment comprises a cap 7 on one end of a screw 6 having a knob 8 at the other end. The screw is pivotally supported on the strip 1 by a strip 4 and a nut 9 thereon retains the cap in abutting position.</p> |
