PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively prevent a wrinkle-like crack or a fluted crack from occurring near a head of a tile molded product. SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing the tile comprises the steps of press molding a tile raw material to be molded by a mold, drying the press molded tile, baking the tile fundamentally without changing from a conventional method, and further pressing a rear surface 21a side of a head 22 of the molded product molded by the press molding with a protrusion (not shown) provided at the mold at a site along a front edge of the head to mold partial recesses 23, 24. In this case, depths of the recesses 23, 24 are particularly preferred to be set to a range of 10 to 30% of the thickness of the peripheral part. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
