PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To highly fix an effective component to be injected in a timber for a long period of time. SOLUTION: A method of treating the timber for highly fixably antiseptic finish and mothproof finish comprises the steps of: injecting a primary treating liquid obtained, by dissolving an antiseptic and mothproof component containing at least one selected from the group consisting of a copper compound, a zinc compound and a boron compound, a sodium silicate or a potassium silicate, in water containing a volatile basic compound in the timber, ambient temperature pressure reducing the timber, semi-drying the timber, dipping the semi-dried timber in a second treating liquid of a high-concentration aqueous solution of a neutral salt at a high temperature for a long period, neutralization curing the timber to generate a silicate neutral and insoluble in a timber tissue, and highly fixing the antiseptic and mothproof component.
