An aromatic polyester is made into thin flakes by subjecting substantially amorphous particles of the polyester to a compressive force, whereby they are flattened into flakes and simultaneously attain a degree of crystallization of at least 10%. The examples describe the rolling of cubes of polyethylene terephthalate between steel rollers under varying roll clearances and at temperatures from room temperature to 200‹ C. |
