The method for producing a connecting and insulating member (6) joining the inner and outer shells of a thermally insulating structure involves extrusion of plastic trough-shaped profile (7), filling of the latter with a liquid insulation material, and foaming of this material to produce an insulating strip (8) attached to the surface (10) of the profile (7). An Independent claim is also included for a resultant connecting and insulating member.
