PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a editing apparatus of video data, capable of reattempting editing work with ease, when occurring some errors in the video data. SOLUTION: An editing control part of the apparatus reads the video data, reproduced by a video tape player with dividing more than one video cassette including respectively more than one video cassette via a video capturing part, when a monitoring part decides of occurrence of errors in reproduced video data (step B4, 'YES'), an informing part informs to a user (step B8) for controlling to re-read the video data from the top of the cassette, where the errors occurred (step B9, B2).
