Flat knitting machine with adjustable sinkers

A flatbed knitting machine has two facing needle beds (1, 2) with longitudinally movable needles (4) with sliding plates (10) held in or freed from their positions by locking stations. The locking stations incorporate a number of different profiled radial cams (31, 33, 35, 37, 40) forming interfaces (21) with the plates (10). The cams define the optimum position of the plates (10) with respect to the movement of the respective needle (4).
