PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recombinant herpes simplex virus (HSV) which is useful for screening an anti-HSV agent or the like.
SOLUTION: This recombinant HSV obtained by inserting a promoter sequence, a fluorescent protein-encoding gene sequence and a polyA sequence into a gene originated from wild type HSV or an HSV-originated gene lacking only a thymidine kinase (TK) domain without breaking the gene. And a method for screening the anti-HSV agent with the recombinant HSV. The recombinant HSV has a perfectly long virus genome, and has a proliferation ability equal to that of the wild type HSV at a cultured cell level. When the recombinant HSV is used, the anti-HSV agent can simply be screened. In addition, the recombinant HSV lacking the TK domain having been used as the mark of a known anti-HSV agent also has a proliferation ability equal to that of the wild type HSV at a cultured cell level, and an anti-HSV agent having a new mechanism can be screened.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
|
